I
started Mercy Education Project in November, 1998. My personal view
of M.E.P has come from a variety of experiences. When I first started
the program, I was more or less in a shell. My confidence level
was low. I felt I couldn't achieve in many things. From the moment
I made the decision to commit to M.E.P., my life changed for the
better.
Mercy
Education Project gave me a wonderful teacher, Mrs. Ruth. She went
out of her way to help me and others succeed, providing we gave
her our time. Mrs. Ruth has been one big blessing in my life. I
took my G.E.D test in June, 2000 and passed four subjects out of
five. Mrs. Ruth gave me the education, confidence, support, and
desire to use in reaching 95% of my goal. Since that time, three
years ago, I have passed the final test I needed to complete my
G.E.D. The team at Mercy Education Project has given me their time,
encouragement, love, and support. I feel like a new and improved
women.
I am
now attending classes at Wayne County Community College, where I
have a 3.33 grade average. I am learning and striving to complete
my goal. With continuing support from my family and my determination,
I plan to graduate with my Associate's Degree, and then go on to
get my Bachelor's Degree. I plan to be a social worker and work
with children.
